Job Title: Payroll Accounting Associate

Department: Payroll–General Ledger Integration

Location: Remote (US Shift- Timings)

Role Overview:

We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Accounting Associate to support the setup,

validation, and maintenance of payroll-to-General Ledger (GL) configurations. The role

involves working closely with internal teams to ensure accurate financial postings,

seamless reconciliation, and proper mapping of payroll data to accounting structures.

Key Responsibilities:

● GL Mapping & Configuration:

Set up and maintain GL account mappings in the payroll system for all key

components including earnings, deductions, taxes, and liabilities.

● Data Structuring:

Understand the company’s Chart of Accounts (CoA), cost centers, and project

codes and ensure these are correctly applied across payroll transactions.

● Data Validation & Reconciliation:

Review payroll and accounting data to validate journal entries and postings.

Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies between payroll and GL data.

● Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Work closely with internal teams such as Finance, Implementation, and

Product to support configuration accuracy and reporting requirements. 

● Testing & Quality Assurance:

Assist in testing payroll-to-GL batches before finalization to ensure complete

accuracy and compliance with company policies.

● Documentation & Process Tracking:

Maintain clear and up-to-date documentation of all configuration details, mapping

logic, and process changes for audit and reference purposes.

Qualifications & Skills:

● Education: Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (B.Com) or Accounting-related field.

● Experience: 1–3 years of experience in accounting, US payroll processing, or

financial reconciliation (fresh graduates may also apply). 

● Technical Skills:

○ Basic understanding of accounting principles and journal entries

○ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.)

○ Familiarity with accounting software or ERP systems is an advantage

● Soft Skills:

○ Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking

○ Good communication and teamwork abilities

○ Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
