Job Title: Sr. Payroll Executive – Canadian Payroll
Remote role (Canada Shift Timings)
Role & Responsibilities
● Onboard new Canadian payroll clients—either by migrating from their
previous payroll provider or setting up payroll from the ground up.
● Process accurate payroll runs on weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly
frequencies as required by each client.
● Review, investigate, and resolve payroll discrepancies promptly while
maintaining complete documentation.
● Assist clients in managing source deductions such as CPP, EI, and income tax,
along with other employer-provided benefits and retirement savings plans.
● Support clients and employees with questions related to tax deductions, TD1
forms, ROEs, and year-end reporting (T4/T4A).
● Analyze and support corrections related to pay statements, T4/T4A forms, and
other payroll-related documents.
● Identify recurring issues and provide insights or recommendations to internal
product and process teams.
● Create, update, and maintain onboarding documentation, SOPs, and support
materials.
● Periodically update the knowledge base to improve client self-service
capabilities.
● Handle personal and confidential employee information in strict adherence to
privacy and data-security policies.
● Proactively collect client feedback and propose improvements to onboarding,
payroll processing, and overall support experience.
Preferred Candidate Profile
● Minimum 5–8 years of experience in Canadian payroll processing, HRIS
onboarding/offboarding, and payroll support.
● PCP or CPM certification from the National Payroll Institute is a strong
advantage.
● Hands-on experience with Canadian payroll software such as ADP, Ceridian
Dayforce, QuickBooks, or Sage is a plus.
● Excellent understanding of federal and provincial payroll legislation, including
statutory deductions, ROE management, vacation/accrual rules, and year-end
reporting.
● Strong familiarity with administering health/dental/vision benefits,
RRSP/Group RRSP contributions, and other taxable/non-taxable benefits.
● Experience developing and maintaining onboarding/offboarding
documentation and client support resources.
● Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
● Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
